On Monday, 9th of December 2019, Business Finland Jakarta invited a number of Finnish companies in Indonesia that each represents own area of expertise to gather and participate in the foresight workshop focusing on Indonesia called: Future Watch. This workshop is moderated by Mr. Teppo Turkki, Counsellor for Science, Technology and Innovation of the Finnish trade promotion organization, Business Finland (used to be Finpro).
Taking place in the Embassy of Finland, Jakarta, this workshop revolves around the major drivers shaping Indonesia and regional operational landscape, to which direction is Indonesia particularly going thus what is relevant for Finland and the Finnish industries, companies, policy makers together to develop its business operations, strategy, and channel its development work.
Among the invitees are LifeLearn Platform and HEI School Jakarta as the representative of Finnish Education in Indonesia. Other invitees ranging from Nordic research group, mining technology, to renewable energy companies. Business Finland representatives and the Ambassador of Finland, H. E. Jari Sinkari. This group of Finnish and local experts related to Finland and other stakeholders from Indonesia spends the day to present and discuss about future trends and weak signals
This foresight workshops idea is to impart knowledge, and to gather participants’ views and signals on possible future changes, opportunities and potential threats that concern Finnish industries and policy makers. The information can apply, for instance, to changes in operational landscape or to new business opportunities in the future.
This workshop ends with a dinner reception at the Residence of Finland, where His Excellencies Sinkari also resides. The dinner also served as a nice intimate celebration of the Finnish independence day which happened earlier at the 6th of December.
